Outdoor, infrared or indoor traditional?

Outdoor saunas

Outdoor saunas are traditional saunas with an electric or wood-burning heater and sauna stones, so you can pour water for steam. Choose a classic barrel with a front porch, a cabin with its own changeroom, a modern rounded design, or an Orivon Auris in natural red cedar. Golden Designs also offers hybrid outdoor saunas, like the Kaskinen and Carinthia, that pair a traditional stove with full spectrum infrared panels. Each one needs a solid, level base. Browse outdoor saunas, barrel saunas, or outdoor cedar saunas.

Home infrared saunas

The Orivon Lumin One, Two and Three are built from Canadian hemlock. They use infrared panels to warm you directly, at a lower air temperature than a traditional sauna. The Lumin Two and Lumin Three plug into a standard 110V outlet. The Lumin One comes in a 110V or 220V setup, so confirm yours before you order. Golden Designs also offers 2-person and 6-person full spectrum infrared saunas in Canadian hemlock, in stock in California. Browse home infrared saunas, or shop by size: 2 person or 3 person.

Indoor traditional saunas

The LeisureCraft Element Studio brings a traditional electric-heater sauna indoors. It has a full-glass front, thermally modified Thermo Grandis wood, and a 64" x 84" footprint. It needs a dedicated circuit and a licensed electrician to connect the heater. Not sure which type suits you? Read Infrared vs. Traditional Sauna.

How to choose a home sauna

  • People: size it by how many people will use it at the same time.
  • Space: compare the exterior dimensions with your spot. For indoor models, also check ceiling height and the path through your home.
  • Power: plug-in infrared is the simplest. Traditional electric heaters are hardwired by a licensed electrician. Wood heaters need a chimney, safe clearances and a check of local codes.
  • Delivery: saunas ship by freight to your curb, and some outdoor kits arrive in crates 10 to 12 feet long. Crate size and weight are listed on each product page.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a home sauna take to arrive?

Golden Designs saunas are in stock in California: infrared models usually ship within 1–2 business days, and outdoor models within 4–7. Orivon Lumin infrared saunas ship in about 15–30 business days, and Orivon Auris outdoor saunas ship in about 15–65 business days. LeisureCraft saunas are made to order in Canada, and each product page shows an estimated build date. We confirm your ship date before your order is placed with the manufacturer.

How is a sauna delivered?

By freight truck, curbside or at the end of your driveway. The driver won't back into your driveway, and you're responsible for unloading and moving the sauna to your site. Some outdoor crates, like the 10-foot Tranquility MP and 12-foot Georgian Cabin crates, are too long for liftgate delivery. We'll help you plan unloading before you order.

Do I need an electrician?

For a traditional electric heater, yes. It must be hardwired by a licensed electrician, and on LeisureCraft saunas the heater warranty is void otherwise. The Lumin Two and Lumin Three plug into a standard 110V outlet. Wood-burning heaters need no electrical hookup, but they must follow local codes and required clearances.

What warranty comes with my sauna?

Orivon Lumin saunas carry a 1-year manufacturer warranty, and Orivon Auris saunas carry 5 years. LeisureCraft saunas carry a 5-year residential limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship (replacement parts; labor and installation not included). Heater warranties follow the heater manufacturer. Golden Designs coverage varies by model; ask us before you buy. Our Warranty Advocate manages claims for you.

Do you install saunas?

Refresh Avenue doesn't provide installation. Assembly is usually a two-person job. Our Local Pro Finder can help you find a licensed electrician or installer near you, whom you hire directly.

What if my sauna arrives damaged?

Inspect it on arrival, take photos, note any damage on the delivery receipt, and contact us within 48 hours. We'll work the claim with the manufacturer for you. See our Refund Policy for details.
